Buyers be ware. Long Story let me break it down.
* Bought a 2007 Palm Beach
* 2 days after picking it up- had family drive down from NC, we had rented rooms at Santee have a Great WeekEnd of fishing. 7 mins. after boat hit water boat engine stalled - wouldn't crank back up - after an hour stranded out on the lake with my 7yr old and family finally was towed back in.
* Called and spoke to my sales person mike he informed me to bring it back they would fix it, I asked about compensation he said he would look in to it.
* Following week took boat out to Jay, they inform me it was the gas. THE GAS? After 7 minutes of running the boat it was the Gas that I had put in it because when you buy a boat from these folks it comes with an empty tank. Salesman never mentioned anything about what type of gas to use - even after I informed him that this was my first boat was there anything i needed to know? - never mentioned it..
* Jay calls me on Thursday and informs me that the boat should be ready that Friday at 12 just in case I wanted to take it out that weekend. Well, I call friends and family to make plans for that weekend, we once again rent rooms at santee to do some fish
ing.
* My Step father comes and picks up the boat, well Jay informs him that he wanted to take it out on the lake, it is now around 5pm. Well, if that was what he was going to do WHY did Jay call me on Thursday - telling me that the boat should be ready around noon? Well, we take the boat and Jay informs us that the battery is dead.
WOW, I take my boat to get it fixed - I get it back untested and with a dead battery.. WOW..
* We take the boat out again and this time it runs.. Well, for a little while.. After about 3 hours the egine again would not start, THIS TIME WITH THE RIGHT FUEL.. We get towed in again.. Another weekend comes to a short end.. WOW I am starting to hate this boat.

* Call Jay inform him that we just want to return the boat, this is not working out. Jay informs me that You can't return the boat, This should be expected from buying a used boat.... REALLY, REALLY I guess the salesperson forgot to mention that when he was selling me the boat. Ok, what can you do for me I ask. Jay informs me that they will fix the boat, GREAT SECOND TIME AROUND I HOPE, What about compensation for GAS, TIME, Frustration, THE ROOMS WE RENTED to Go FISHING.. Owner informs him we can give you $100..

*WOW what a slap in the face. NOT ABOUT MONEY WITH ME, I am Retail Store Manger and deal with people every day. These folks do not care except for their next sale, It is about what is right and wrong - They could have choosen to do the right thing but instead they showed their true character. I write this Blog to inform you the First Time Boat Buyer be Careful.

Marsha Jeffcoat, Gilbert, SC - 06/06/2009

Hi, everyone my name is Marsha Jeffcoat. I decided to purchase a boat for my children and I to enjoy at Lake Murray . I started at Outdoor Marine and thought their prices were unaffordable and when their staff found out I would be purchasing by myself, they ignored me. I left there and went to Mountain Top RV & Marine in Lexington. A gentleman by the name of Sean Deese was ready to assist me. He found me the perfect boat that is ideal for a woman to use with children. It's easy to maneuver and was a great price! He took me out to Lake Murray for a test drive and showed me exactly how to operate and maintain the boat. He helped with the registration process and even helped me set up insurance. Being a first time boat owner, this process can be scary. Sean and his staff made the whole process easy and even fun! I would definitely recommend anyone to Mountain Top and will purchase from there again when I'm ready to trade up!

Customer came in 45 minutes after we closed tried to scam us on one of our boats. Was very bitter when we didn't fall for it and would not meet his demands. Luckily the boat sold to the woman looking at it at the same time. So our after hours efforts were not unappreciated.

Why would you call it a scam? We were buying the boat for the same price we agreed on 4 days prior 16,500. You were the one that said the boat was in great shape. "we ordered and are putting on a new prop" "We are having the carpet mold cleaned" any of this sound familiar? oh yeah why not tell us the skeg was bent? this must have been why the people from North Carolina turned around and went home too...lmao.. Sure that decoy lady bought the boat thats why you relisted it on ebay today right? Face the facts you all lie and your diveof a company is a joke your the scammers selling repo junk!!!!!

Why are posting a link for a closed listing? I think our perfect feedback on ebay speaks for itself. Simple facts, you applied for credit to purchase the boat and were turned down for bad credit. You got your friend to call, not explaining the deal you and I had, when he came to buy the boat you became angry and bitter that the things worked out for your deal were not addressed. If you would have been forth right and had your friend ask for all the things you wanted handled then we would not be sitting here posting very childish comments. We are not mind readers, I agreed to handle some things for your purchase. How could another sales person possibly have knowledge of that conversation if you don't tell him??? The boat is gone and I guess that's all that matters, another satisfied buyer. Posting BS and little jabs at us on obscure websites is a waste of both of our time. Our repeat business and impeccable feedback on ebay speaks for itself.
